What is AS9100 Software?

AS9100 software is the umbrella term for platforms used by aerospace suppliers to achieve and sustain certification to the AS9100 Rev D standard — the aerospace-specific extension of ISO 9001.

Definition

AS9100 software is not a single product category. It refers to the combination of QMS, ERP and document control platforms used to satisfy the AS9100 Rev D clause set with auditable evidence.

Scope of the standard

AS9100 Rev D extends ISO 9001:2015 with aerospace-specific requirements including configuration management, product safety, counterfeit parts prevention, special processes, risk-based thinking, first article inspection (FAI), and management of change.

How software supports certification

Software supports AS9100 certification by structuring document control, training, CAPA, nonconformance, supplier quality, audit, and management of change into auditable workflows that produce evidence on demand. The audit trail integrity of these workflows is the operational deliverable that auditors evaluate.
