ITAR Compliance Software
ITAR compliance software is the set of platforms used by defense and aerospace organizations to control access to technical data covered by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. It is rarely a single product — it spans ERP, PLM, file storage and identity.
What ITAR software must control
ITAR-controlled technical data must be stored, accessed and shared only by U.S. persons or under approved licenses. Software supporting ITAR compliance must therefore enforce identity, jurisdiction, data residency and audit trail across systems holding technical data — typically PLM, ERP, file storage, email and collaboration platforms.
Architecture observations
Compliant architectures generally combine an ITAR-aware PLM (Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, Aras), an ERP capable of project-based access segregation (SAP, Oracle, IFS), an identity layer enforcing nationality-based access, and a controlled file and collaboration environment (commonly GCC High).
Software alone does not deliver ITAR compliance — but software gaps are the most common audit findings.
