Methodology

Evaluation methodology

AS9100Hub evaluates aerospace and defense software using a vendor-neutral framework focused on industry fit, compliance coverage, integration depth, traceability and adoption signals.

Scoring framework

Every platform tracked in the AS9100Hub directory is scored against a fixed criteria set. Scores are reviewed continuously based on new program deployments, customer references and the standard refresh cycle.

  • Aerospace fit (1–5) — depth and history of deployment inside aerospace OEMs and Tier 1/2 suppliers.
  • Defense fit (1–5) — deployment inside U.S. and allied defense primes and the broader DIB.
  • Compliance coverage — AS9100 Rev D, ITAR, DFARS 252.204-7012, CMMC 2.0.
  • Functional depth (1–5) — capability against the platform's primary category.
  • Integration depth — quality of integration with ERP, PLM, QMS and MES.
  • Traceability and audit readiness — quality of audit trail and evidence packaging.
  • Adoption signals — observable deployment across primes and Tier 1 suppliers.

Independence

Vendor presence in the directory is independent of paid placement. Sponsored vendors are clearly disclosed and do not receive scoring uplift. The methodology is published in full here; changes are versioned and logged.

What we do not score

AS9100Hub does not score brand strength, marketing presence, analyst-relations footprint, or social media activity. Procurement decisions in aerospace and defense are driven by capability, compliance and integration — the methodology reflects that.
